In this experiment, L-Phenylalaninol and Pyridine-2-carbaldehyde were used, and Sodium tri(acetoxy)borohydride (STAB) was added to catalyze and perform condensation and reductive amination reactions to produce Tetradentate ligands; then the metal ion Co2+ (Cobalt(II) trifluoromethanesulfonate, Co(OTf)2 was used in this study) is used as the coordination center to assemble the Cobalt complex; NMR, SCXRD, EPR and UV-Vis are used to determine the product structure of each step, explore its reactivity and ultimately confirm that the Cobalt complex possesses the ability to activate hydrogen atom transfer reactions.
