用於單側全聾患者的多模態空間感知輔助系統 Multimodal Spatial Awareness Assist Device for Patients with Single-Sided Deafness
Patients with single-sided deafness (SSD) often experience difficulty in
determining the direction of sounds due to the head shadow effect, which limits
their ability to localize sound sources. In noisy or open environments, this can
result in missing crucial auditory warnings.Building upon the author’s 2025 study,
Sound Direction Assist Device for Patients with Single-Sided Deafness Caused by
Acoustic Neuroma [1], this research presents systematic improvements and a more
intelligent, user-friendly design. The key enhancements include:
1. Upgraded voice recognition module: Added specific word recognition to
identify nearby human voices and provide real-time verbal alerts to the user.
2. Integration of millimeter-wave radar: Radar sensing extends the detection
range up to 40 meters—approximately 2.67 times greater than the previous
version.
3. Optimized alert mechanism: A pressure sensor detects frowning responses to
replace continuous vibration, reducing sensory fatigue and offering a more
natural and comfortable interaction.
By integrating acoustic, radar, and speech-recognition technologies, this study
develops a more comprehensive environmental awareness system de
