Among the frequently occurring road accidents, those in hilly areas and raised terrain are the most common. These accidents are common due to restricted visibility, blind spots, and the absence of early warning systems, which result in a significant increase in collision rates. To address this challenge, we have designed a dual traffic guard system that integrates two safety components. The first component comprises a sensor based alarm system that performs the function of continuously monitoring the approaching vehicles at blind curves using infrared sensors. When a vehicle is detected, the system activates a real time warning signal on the opposite side through red and green LEDs, which is accompanied by an auditory alert. This allows the incoming drivers to anticipate oncoming traffic before entering the curve, which results in significant reduction in the likelihood of head-on collisions. This system operates automatically and requires no human assistance, which makes it suitable for remote or high risk areas. The second component of this model comprises a compact roadside wind turbine that functions to generate electricity using the airflow that is created by passing vehicles as well as natural wind. The rotation of the turbine then drives a DC motor functioning as a generator, producing electrical energy through electromagnetic induction. This renewable energy is being used to power the nearby streetlights, which provides continuous operation without any dependence on external electricity. By the integration of automatic accident prevention mechanism with a sustainable power generator, this model is providing us with cost effective, eco-friendly, and practical solutions for upgrading road safety in high risk hilly areas.
